The skyline of Manhattan is always beautiful. It doesn't matter if you see it from the observation deck of Empire State Building, the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center), Brooklyn Bridge, New Jersey or the water. There are so many high-rise buildings in Midtown and Lower Manhattan; it has the densest skyscrapers in the world. While walking in the city, you will see skyscrapers surrounding you and there are 92 of which standing taller than 600 feet (183 m). Currently, Empire State Building regained the title of the tallest building in the city after the World Trade Center towers were destroyed by terrorist attacks in 2001. The 1,776-foot (541 m) One World Trade Center will be the tallest building when it is completed in 2013.
We had the chance to enjoy Manhattan Skyline from Empire State Building at dusk, Rockefeller Center at night, Brooklyn Bridge and water taxi during daytime. All of them are worthwhile for you to experience. If you want to have good photos, you need to adjust your settings when in the boat. It is very difficult to take good photos at night if you do not have a tripod, which is not allowed on the observation decks of the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center. New York City is so amazing that you must see it yourself. You will recognize those scenes like you saw on countless movies and TV series. The boat ride on the Hudson River will let you see the unpredictable and surprising beauty of the skyline from different angles. You have to find for yourself the best spot to see the skyline you like, and of course it will take lots of time and walking.
Next time I will try to see New York City from New Jersey to discover its beauty during day and night. The same advice here is doing your homework before you go and you will see all what you want as planned. Enjoy your stay in the Big Apple.
