Mamma Mia! on Broadway, New York City, NY, USA

We listened to ABBA when I was at the university. Time flies, and we still love their music. Their songs were and still are so popular worldwide, and finally some geniuses created a musical and a movie using these well-known songs.

This was the first time we went to see a musical in Broadway. Last time we went to a theater was in London during the summer of 2002. The experience was not as expected because that theater has no air condition due to difficulty to install one in the old building, but they were kind enough to provide a fan free of charge if requested.

It is amazing that the producers of the musical and later movie could find a way to use those songs seamlessly to create a story. It made people think those songs were written for the movie and musical. Because I am very familiar with ABBA's songs, I even began to admire the talented people behind it. Tens of millions of people have seen the musical since its 1999 debut. The movie was released in July 2008, and it became the highest grossing musical of all time in terms of worldwide gross.

We purchased the tickets online before we went to New York, and we had superb seats in the middle of the 8th row. The Winter Garden Theatre was next to our hotel, and we went in as soon as it opened, so we could take a good look at the theater and enjoy its decorations and arrangements. The musical was fantastic, and it reminded us of those wonderful songs and good memories.
