Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is sited on the Montjuïc hill in Barcelona, Spain. It was built for the 1929 International Exhibition of Barcelona as the main pavilion. It has been the National Art Gallery of Catalonia since 1934.
Originally, the collection mainly focused on Catalan art and artists. After years of expansion, it now has a wide diversity of collections from Romanesque to modern art. The museum now has many collections including the ones below:
You can go there by riding subway L1 and L3 (Pl. Espanya) and walking about 1 mile. Due to the uphill incline and some steps, you need around 20 to 30 minutes to reach the museum. Once you are there, you can look down from the hill at the magnificent view of the city and the Magic Fountains of Montjuic. The architecture itself is a piece of art, and the sunset makes it even more attractive. You will need to allot many hours to enjoy the fine art inside the museum. The 17,200 sq-foot multifunction Oval Hall is a huge indoor space for social events. The daylight comes from the doom of the hall and makes it a very pleasant place to have all kinds of activities.
