Lake Wanaka & Glenorchy of South Island, New Zealand

 

There is so much I want to share about our vacation in Queenstown area. We stopped at many places that are worth mentioning. These photos were taken at Lake Wanaka & Glenorchy.

Wanaka is a beautiful little town. I would like to spend a week or more staying in a lakeside vacation house and enjoy its peaceful and amazing view. The miles long beach with white sand and willow trees is easily accessible. You can find all kinds of water sports. You also can discover a number of bars and restaurants along the lakeside.

Glenorchy is about 45 KM north of Queenstown. The scenery drive between Queenstown and Glenorchy is spectacular. Glenorchy is a backpacker's dreamland, and you can spend days on tracks and visit the Lord of the Rings filming sites. We did not spend much time there, but we really enjoyed the natural beauty of the area.
