La Boqueria, Barcelona, Spain

La Boqueria (Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria) is a large food market on La Rambla. The market can be traced back to 1217 as an open air market. With years of development, it is now has the metal roof since 1914.

We all need to eat and finding food becomes more critical when you are travelling. Most of the time, it is not that easy to find a place that provides all kinds of food under one roof.
La Boqueria is a unique place that not only has more food than you can imagine but also is right in the center of the city. You can take the metro to the Liceu station (L3) and walk to this famous market. It sells hams (jamón), fruits, meats, sausages, vegetables, fishes, nuts and fresh juices. You can also buy tapas and other local food for lunch and it is cheaper than you can get in the restaurants.

The colorful market place will be in our memory for a long time. It is a place that you have to visit when in Barcelona. I bet you will go to
La Boqueria not once, but many times if you stay in Barcelona for a while.
