Capri, Italy

We got on the jetfoil for an approximate 45 minutes ride to the island of Capri. After arriving at the Marina Grande, our tour started by going uphill. The view of Marina Grande is dramatic both from the sea and the shore. We enjoyed spending some time on our own around the famous Piazzetta (Piazza Umberto) strolling through the narrow streets, exploring the shops, and discovering the beautiful scenery of the island. You can also wander around the elegant boutiques and cafes. We continued our walk to visit the Augustus Garden which offers beautiful views over the bay. On the highest part of the Garden are the terraces which face the southern part of the island, Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni, with a breathtaking view of cliffs falling sheer to the sea. You can also follow the Via Krupp down to the Marina Piccola from Augustus Garden.

Time was too short for us to see all we wanted. I will be back to Capri to find out more about this island. I certainly will take a boat tour to explore the Mediterranean Sea near the island next time. Of course, staying one or two night in Capri would be a plus, except everything is so expensive. One night stay in Capri will easily cost you €200+, and a coke in some place can spend you €5.
I am surprised to learn that Capri also has a well-known song – "Isle of Capri." Italians love to sing, so they have a song for everything.
