Skippers Canyon, New Zealand

We took this tour on our last day of the 7 days vacation in Queenstown. I contacted them via e-mail to book the tour one month before we went. We were worried about the weather the day before the tour because it started raining in the afternoon and did not stop when we went to bed at midnight. What a surprise, the next day was a beautiful day. We were so lucky because of the rain last night and the cold temperature in the summer time; there was snow on the mountain. We actually could touch the snow on the ground. Wolfgang, our driver + tour guide, told us that it was almost impossible to see snow in late January in the Skippers Canyon tour.

The 4WD concerned me from the beginning because we were travelling with my parents – 81 & 75 years old even though Yasmine, the owner, told me that the trip was suitable for all ages. I am glad that we selected the tour. Wolfgang really gave us a wonderful tour with his knowledge of the area, culture, history, society, geography, flora and animal life. I was really appreciated the extra stops he did for us to take photos of the amazing scenes. The tour also included a tea break near a beautiful old school house. The wonderful hosts prepared delicious cookies, cheeses, tea, coffee and wine, and most impressive was that they used real tableware instead of paper and plastics.

All of us were really enjoy the tour and gave us a impressive ending of our New Zealand vacation.
